Christmas in Talinn

Talinn has to be one of the most underrated cities in Europe. It’s a bit like a cross between Prague and Bruges –– but without all of the tourists –– and it's cheap, full of great food, very modern, and almost everyone speaks fluent English. The Estonians have also done a fantastic job of preserving the Old Town while allowing just the right modern comforts to creep in. You can have an espresso while surfing the internet on a super-fast WiFi in a 500+ year old building, but you won’t see a McDonald’s or a Starbucks anywhere (at least I didn’t). Even the few tourist “traps” that do exist are excellent!

And as if Talinn wasn’t already awesome enough, Christmas time takes it to a whole new level of awesome.
